Tally Marks and Traffic Survey

P4 continue to learn information handling skills.  This morning we practised counting in 5's and discussed when and why this can be a useful strategy.  We tried counting lots of sticks scattered on our classroom carpet and found we couldn't remember which ones we had counted already!  We organised the sticks into bundles of five and this helped us to count more accurately. 



We developed our tally mark writing skills in class before heading outside to complete a survey of the traffic on the road outside our school.
